Why is Natural Farming Dying?

Natural farming is losing ground due to lack of awareness, support, and infrastructure. Farmers often find chemical farming easier due to subsidies and ready availability of inputs. In contrast, natural farming requires more labor and careful timing of homemade inputs.

There’s also a lack of marketing channels for natural produce. Without a premium market or certification, farmers struggle to earn fair prices. Training and demonstration farms are limited, further discouraging adoption.

Reviving natural farming will require government incentives, buyer-farmer linkages, and strong branding—like that of Kala Namak rice—to make the system profitable and sustainable again.
