Process of Sowing Kala Namak Rice
Sowing Kala Namak rice begins in early June with the onset of the monsoon. Farmers first prepare nursery beds and soak high-quality seeds in water for pre-germination. After 25–30 days, healthy seedlings are transplanted into flooded, well-puddled fields.
In natural farming, special care is taken to space plants adequately, allowing better sunlight and air flow. Jeevamrit, a fermented bio-fertilizer, is often used during transplanting to enrich soil microbes and root health. The fields must remain moist but not waterlogged during the initial weeks.
Proper sowing determines crop success. A good nursery, timely transplantation, and natural soil inputs are essential for a high-quality, aromatic Kala Namak harvest.
